How to solve hydraulic oil overheating?

2023-05-23

The hydraulic system is the most important core system, and problems with the hydraulic system will directly affect the working performance of the machine, even making it unable to operate. Among them, hydraulic oil overheating is a common fault in hydraulic systems, but it is often overlooked due to its lack of obvious symptoms. Below we summarize the potential hazards and solutions of hydraulic oil passing through the tropics.

1.The hydraulic system consists of a series of fine components. When the temperature of the hydraulic oil is too high, the fine components in the hydraulic system will deform if kept at high temperature for a long time. Due to different materials of different parts, their coefficient of thermal expansion is also different. Different deformation amplitudes can cause the fit tolerance between components to exceed a reasonable range, affecting the transmission accuracy of the system, leading to obstruction of valve body movement and hydraulic oil leakage.
2. Hydraulic oil with excessively high temperature will reduce its viscosity, reduce its lubrication performance, cause abnormal wear of hydraulic components, affect the service life of the components, and exacerbate oil leakage.
3. Excessive oil temperature can cause cavitation, generate additional noise and vibration, and corrode the surface of metal components, affecting their lifespan and hydraulic system performance.
4. Excessive temperature can accelerate the deterioration of hydraulic oil, reduce its service life, and corrode hydraulic components.

So how should we avoid the situation of hydraulic oil overheating?
1. Continuous work in high temperature environments, especially high-intensity work, should be avoided as much as possible. High temperature environment can affect the heat dissipation effect of the hydraulic system, and the heat generated by the machine is greater than the heat dissipation, causing the oil temperature to be too high.
2. Regularly check the hydraulic oil level and replenish the hydraulic oil in a timely manner. The oil level is too low, the hydraulic oil does not have sufficient circulation and cooling conditions, and the heat dissipation capacity is greatly reduced.
3. Regularly replace the appropriate brand of hydraulic oil and replace the hydraulic oil filter according to the instructions. After long-term use, the viscosity of hydraulic oil decreases and the oil becomes ineffective. If not replaced in a timely manner, it will affect the normal operation of the system. Also, do not mix different grades of oil.
4. Keep the hydraulic oil clean. Hydraulic oil contamination can accelerate the wear of internal parts or seals of hydraulic components, damaging the hydraulic system. Pay attention to cleaning when replacing hydraulic oil to avoid water and debris entering the hydraulic system.
