The greasy factor of hydraulic oil is mainly due to the poor oxidation resistance of hydraulic oil. There are many oxidation factors. Hydraulic oil is in high temperature and high pressure environment when working, and metal is used as catalyst. It is easy to polymerize. The carbon and oxygen, hydrogen and oxygen of hydrocarbon molecules will react to form colloid or carbon deposit. Another reason is that the foam resistance of hydraulic oil is too poor and the air release value is high. When passing through the oil pump or reflux, the bubbles can not be eliminated in time and enter the circulation, and then "explosion" (bubble rupture) occurs under certain conditions, resulting in "diesel effect". The local high temperature makes the hydraulic oil oxidize or polymerize to form colloid. This influence also causes the "pitting" phenomenon on the surface of oil pump blades, gear surfaces and hydraulic system parts, which causes great damage to the equipment.

High quality hydraulic oil should be hydrotreated lubricating oil. The higher the refining degree of base oil, the better its antioxidant performance, and the less likely the hydraulic oil is to produce colloid or carbon deposition. The performance of general hydraulic oil is closely related to the base oil, and the additive content is very small, generally no more than 1%, which depends on the performance of the base oil to realize its stable function.
